HOW TO GET A WORKING VISA IN CHINA
To legally teach English in China you need to acquire a Z-type Visa from your country’s Chinese Embassy or Consulate. This requires a Work Permit Notice from the immigration authorities in the area you want to live in. There are a few requirements to make this possible:
1. Citizenship of one of the following countries: USA, Canada, UK, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Jamaica.
2. BA level college degree authenticated by Chinese Embassy
3. One of the following:
a. 2 years of teaching experience after graduation
b. TESOL or TOEFL certification
c. College degree in education
4. Clear criminal background attested by the local judicial authorities and authenticated by Chinese Embassy
5. Invitation Letter and other documents provided the future employer
